Frances Maxine Morrissey

Frances Morrissey, age 88, of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021 surrounded by family.

Frances was born on June 17, 1933 to Howard and Ruby Wright in Phoenix Arizona. The family moved to Vanport, Oregon and Fran graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. Enlisting in the Navy, Frances was stationed at Bainbridge, MD, Jacksonville, FL and Memphis, TN. She met and married James Morrissey and the couple moved to Portland Oregon raising a family of seven.

Frances retired from Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and dedicated many hours to temple work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also devoted many hours to genealogy work. She generously shared her research skills with all who asked.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Howard and Richard, and son James.

Fran was enormously proud of her children, grandchildren and her continually growing family. She is survived by her brother David, 6 of her 7 children: Bob (Pauletta), Mark, Mike (Deb), Nancy Taylor (Karl), Karen Brown (Mark), and Margaret Dea (Richard), and her Grandchildren (listed in order by family) Van, Heather, Crystal, Lela, Howard, Brandon, Bryan, Thomas, Rachel, Mark, Rebecca, Kathryn, Danielle, Michelle, Wayne, Ailene, Amber, Joseph, Stephanie, Emily, Keith, Diana, Greg, Julie, Lloyd, Nathan, Elizabeth, Erin, Matthew, David, Lynelle and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous too list. She will be greatly missed.
