Frank Carol Dunigan

Frank Carol Dunigan was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 18, 1938, to Arthur James Dunigan and Marie Soules-Dunigan. He attended Lakewood Highschool where he played football, baseball and ran track. His relay team still maintains a record at the high school. He graduated in 1956. Upon graduating from high school, he first attended Ohio University where he played football and participated in track. He later graduated from Cleveland State. During his college years he met and married Eva Lee Powers. Upon graduating from Cleveland State, he went to work for R.O. Hull Company, beginning in the warehouse and mixing area and was later promoted to sales in Wheaton, IL and Essex, CT. The family returned to Cleveland in 1967 where Frank continued work at R.O. Hull, which was later purchased by the McGean Rocco company.

Frank later went out on his own to create A Brite company in 1982, hiring several of his colleagues from the metal finishing industry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since the age of 24, a member of the Emerald Civic Society of Cleveland, the Irish American Society of Dallas, serving as the Dallas IAS president for 2 years with his wife Eva Lee, he was the Irish Person of the Year in 2001. He was a huge supporter of the Irish International Rose of Tralee pageant, taking several trips to Ireland to support the Dallas candidate and making new friends each time. Frank was very proud of his Irish heritage. He was the head coach of his son, Dan’s, SVAA baseball team the Maroon Rangoons. He was a board member for the Metal Finishing Society of America (MFSA), the Association of Electro-Surface Finishers (AESF), and the National Association of Surface Finishers (NASF). He was president of the Lake Highlands Highschool Wildcat club and attended numerous sporting events for his three sons. Frank was a rock for his family and was tirelessly dedicated to providing for and supporting his family. He lived to attend all his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Eva Lee Dunigan; sons: Mathew Arthur Dunigan and wife Katherine, and Daniel James Dunigan and wife Erin; grandchildren: Elin, Dane, Bailey, Sean, Madison, Dolan, Shannon and Jameson; great granddaughters: Darsey, Tobin, Sloane, and Polly. He is preceded in death by his eldest son Scott Francis Dunigan.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Frank’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and Operation Kindness.
