Frank Edward Sheets passed away on May 11, 2016 in Grass Valley, California, age 90.
He was born in San Francisco in 1925 to Frank William Sheets and Maria Rodriguez Sheets. He spent his early years in Sacramento, and then moved to Marin County in 1960 where he worked as a plumber. He was a resident of Nevada County since 1987.
Frank served in the U.S Navy during World War II, earning several medals. He was a member of the Frank Gallino Post of the American Legion. Frank enjoyed playing the harmonica with the Rough and Ready Fruit Jar Pickers for many years. Often playing and singing duets with his wife. He spent time traveling in his RV, wood carving and various forms of painting.
Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elinor R Sheets; daughter Robin Lugar; sons Darren Sheets, Todd Sheets, Kevin Lester and Bruce Sheets; 6 grandchildren; sister Elia Kilpatrick of Sacramento; and 11 nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him and his never ending sense of humor.
