Gary Dean Reed

October 20, 1940- January 22, 2021

Gary grew up on a farm that was the family home for generations near Almelund, Minnesota. His father and mother, Donald and Beatrice preceded him in death as did his brother, Tom and sister Sandy. He is survived by sister, Becky (Dave) Martini

Gary attended school at Taylors Falls Minnesota, grades 1 thru12. During his junior year he started dating his high school sweetheart Lois Fryxell. They were married on October 24, 1959. Their son, Jeff was born on September 9, 1960 and one year later, on Jeff's first birthday, they started their journey to San Diego where Gary was employed as a field engineer by Control Data. Jennifer joined the family on July 18, 1962.

Gary was in the computer business all his adult life. Before retirement his field was automated environmental control. He had our home a "smart house" long before it was developed for the marketplace. He was a training instructor for business sights across the country. He and Lois were blessed with travel for many years.

Gary loved his family and home and always made life special for us all. His faith in our Lord Jesus was strong to the end of his life. He knew he was going to his eternal home. Our family belonged to Christ the Cornerstone Lutheran Church where we worshiped and he served the Lord in many ways. He loved our social gatherings with our family, many friends and extended family. Gary will be missed by so many of these wonderful people that blessed his life.

The Lord took Gary to his heavenly home on Friday, January 22. He died peacefully with his wife Lois and grandson, Matthew in his room and the rest of the family joining on zoom.

Gary was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Lois, son, Jeffrey (Nelia), daughter, Jennifer (Syn) Reed-Aguayo, grandson's Mitchell (Michelle) and Matthew (Sabina) and granddaughter, Jessica (Elliott) Castro, great grandson, Oliver and great granddaughter, Audrey.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. A memorial fund has been established at Christ the Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Gary's honor.
