Gary Peter Tordanato

Gary Peter Tordanato (Slim), beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away quietly in his sleep on Wednesday August 10th, 2022, in Phoenix AZ. Born April 4th, 1957, and a longtime resident of Berlin CT, Gary attended St. Paul Middle School, graduated from Berlin High School in 1975 and then from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in business administration. After several years of searching for his niche in life, Gary settled into a job with the State of Connecticut where he provided help to those in need. He retired after 20 years and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2007.

Gary loved fishing, sports, and watching his sons’ play baseball. He was never afraid to laugh at himself, especially over his struggles trying to master technology of any kind. Gary has now been released from the trials and tribulations of this mortal world and joins his beloved mother Mary and father Peter in Heaven. He is survived by what he often described as the “three biggest blessings of his life”, his three beautiful children, sons A.J and wife Kelsey, Tyler and wife Amanda, and daughter Lauren, as well as their devoted and supportive stepmother, Susan Kallenbach. Also left behind were his brother Neil and sister-in-law Janice of Hamden CT, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends spread across the country, all of whom will miss him dearly every day.

Gary’s remains will be returned from Phoenix by his best friend Doug Coburn and be laid to rest alongside his parents in Berlin. There are no public services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those interested to make a donation in his name to the ASPCA or Foster America.
