Gideon M. Gilbert (Gil) Age 86 passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2018, surrounded by family after a brief bout of pneumonia. Gil was born Sept. 22, 1931 in Circle, MT to Margaret and Gideon Gilbert Sr. He enlisted in the Air Force and graduated cadet training as a 2nd Lt, in 1953 at Ellington AFB. While stationed in Texas he met and married his wife JoAnn. He then went on to graduate from University of Texas in 1960 with an Engineering degree. He proudly served in the Air Force as a navigator and retired Lt. Col. after 28 years. He then spent 10 years as an Engineer at the Boeing Company.
A resident of Kent for over 50 years he spent many hours flying out of Crest Airpark in his beloved Mooney Mite. He was an active member in the local EAA and WAMM organizations. If anyone ever needed to know anything about the Mooney Mite he was your guy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, JoAnn; his three daughters-Sarah (Mike), Sandra, Grace (Robb); grandchildren-Claire, Ryan, Grant, Kira and Jessica; great-grandchildren-Jeremiah, Gabriel and Mason.
