Gordon Ross Nixon

Gordon Ross Nixon, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to family, dedication to country, and unwavering kindness.

Born in North East, Pennsylvania, Gordon's life was defined by his commitment to others. He served his nation honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, seeing active duty in the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated over three decades to his work in management, safety, and training at US Airways in Pittsburgh before retiring to sunny Arizona.

A man of quiet strength and deep convictions, Gordon found his greatest joy at home with his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather who cherished time spent with his loved ones. He taught them the value of hard work, loyalty, and the importance of Steelers football. His faith was also a fundamental aspect of his life, as a long-time member of Sun Lakes Methodist Church.

Gordon is survived by his loving family and friends, all of whom will continue to be inspired by his example. He leaves behind on this Earth his wife, Ginger; sons, Robert (Jennifer) and Corey (Theresa); grandchildren, Ross, Ava, and Roman; and siblings, Carolyn, Jeanette, and their families. His wisdom, warmth, and sense of humor will be profoundly missed.

In remembrance of Gordon, donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund (https://www.kidneyfund.org/ways-give), a cause close to the family's heart.
