Gregory T. Hurst

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Timothy Hurst on December 28, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on November 15, 1956, Greg was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Olivia Domingue Hurst; his children, Keisha Hurst Burns (Louis Francis Burns III) and Nicholas Gregory Hurst (Sarah Carrion Hurst). He was a proud grandfather to Jacob, Sophia, Jaiden, Dominic, Lillian, Lucas, and Elenor, each bringing him immense joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Thelma Hurst, and his siblings, Nelson and Patricia Hurst. Greg’s extended family, including nieces and nephews, will deeply miss his kindness and guidance.

 Greg served his community through the Westlake Volunteer Fire Department, first as a firefighter and later as a district commissioner, demonstrating his commitment to public service. A dedicated family man, Greg also supported his children’s school activities, mentoring high school students and inspiring countless young people.

 His love for cars was a lifelong passion, and he took pride in racing his cherished 1972 Nova. Through his church, Greg served as a CCE teacher and participated in mission trips to Eagle Pass, Texas, helping those in need.

 Above all, Greg will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and mentorship will live on through the many lives he touched.
