A life lived fully in faith, love, family, and sailing.
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Henry Copeland on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Jupiter Medical Center after a valiant battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) with his loving wife, Linda, and devoted daughter, Shirley, by his side. Hank was born in Ft. Knox, KY, to the late Henry and Shirley Copeland, and was preceded in death by his dear wife of 47 years, Marilyn Copeland, and brother, John Copeland.
Hank joined the Navy after graduating high school, and following his tour of duty attended and received his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. While a successful business owner, Hank was also a man of faith – giving his time as an active member of First Presbyterian Church as an Elder and serving on several committees. He also loved sailing and was a founding member of the Castaways sharing his love of sailing by serving as Commodore.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Copeland; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Panek and Jeff Mocho; granddaughters Jenna (Kayli) Panek and Emma Panek; sisters-in-law, Sandra Collignon and Vicki Copeland; as well as dear family and friends.
A service will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 11am at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, FL, 33408. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George’s Table, P.O. Box 10584, Riviera Beach, FL 33419.
