Sister, mother, and grand-matriarch, Ignacia Torres, quietly went home to be with the Lord late in the evening of November 19, 2024, after 93 full years of love and joy. Born on May 2, 1931, in Tamazunchale, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Luciana Labra and Guadalupe Torres, Ignacia was the oldest surviving daughter of five children.
In her early teenage years, she journeyed to the United States, where she embraced new opportunities and challenges. It was in the U.S. that Ignacia met and married Roberto Torres, with whom she built a beautiful life. She was blessed with five children, and devoted herself fully to raising her family, creating a loving and welcoming home filled with warmth, laughter, and faith.
Ignacia's love and guidance extended beyond her immediate family. She was a source of strength and spiritual wisdom for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her legacy is one of perseverance, selflessness, and deep faith in God, values she instilled in each generation of her family.
She is survived by 3 of her 5 children, 9 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Ignacia's presence will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the love she shared and the family she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on a soon to be announced date to celebrate her long and remarkable life. Please contact her daughter Charlie Wessels for further information. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring the legacy of a truly extraordinary woman.
