Ignacio B. Garcia Jr. at the age of 88, passed away after an intense battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Nacho was born August 1 1929 in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico, to the parents of Ignacio & Angelita Garcia. At the age of five months his family moved to Tijuana, Mexico. As a young teenager he Immigrated and made his way to the United States eventually settling in Palm Springs in 1957. He took his first job at the El Mirador Hotel working as a waiter. Later in his career he also was a Captain & Maître D. He worked at the Racquet Club, Hotel Trinidad, and Canyon Hotel. In 1973 he became manager of Las Casuelas Nuevas Restaurant and then moved on to other numerous restaurants in the valley. It was during this time he was very proud to serve many famous movie stars including Frank Sinatra, Liz Taylor, Natalie Wood, Dean Martin, Kirk Douglas, and many more. Nacho also worked for Colonel Tom Parker, the manager of Elvis Presley in the 80's for about ten years. This was the true Era of Palm Springs. In 1961 he married Adeline Sanchez (Nina). In 1963 he purchased his home in Palm Springs where he remained for the next 57 years. He is survived by his wife Nina Garcia and their three children Nacho III, Angela (Mark) Tiedeman, Luis (Bethany) Garcia. Six grandchildren Luisito, Alexis, Grant, Seth, Selah, and Isabella and 1 great grandchild Ezra Luis. Also survived by his siblings Carmen, Alicia, Jesus and Alfredo along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
