Aura Ileana Quintana Calderón, a beacon of kindness and love, was born January 23, 1948, in Ciudad de Guatemala. She peacefully departed this life on September 27, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and care of her loving family.

Born to Candida and Carlos Santos Calderon, Ileana was blessed with a nurturing spirit and a heart full of generosity. Her life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and unwavering dedication to God, her family and friends. 

Ileana shared a remarkable journey with her beloved husband, Leonel Quintana, whom she married in 1971 in Los Angeles, California. Together, they built a strong and loving family over 26 beautiful years. Though their lives took different paths, the family they formed remained a cornerstone of her happiness and fulfillment.

A devoted mother to Jacqueline, Carolyn, and Erik, Ileana's life was enriched further by the joy of her three cherished grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she nurtured them with motherly tenderness and patience that made everyone feel loved and at home.

Ileana was predeceased by her dear siblings Magdalena, Carlos, Maria, Jorge, Fernando, Yolanda, and Edgar. Their memories remained etched in her heart, and she spoke fondly of the times they shared together.

Her kindness and ability to forge long-lasting friendships left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ileana's home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where laughter and love were ever-present.

In a heartfelt message that captures the essence of her spirit, Ileana left these comforting words for those she loved:

"Para los que amé y me amaron: 

Cuando me vaya, déjenme ir...

No se aten a mi con lagrimas.

Por los hermosos años que vivimos juntos demosle gracias a Dios. Si tienen que llorar dejen que la fe en Dios conforte su pena.

La vida sigue adelante.

Yo estaré cerca.

Sentirán el calor de mi amor en sus corazones.

Y cuando ustedes tengan que viajar por este camino junto con Dios, los recibiré y con una sonrisa les diré

'¡Sean bienvenidos! Nunca más nos separemos.'"

Ileana's legacy is one of love and tenderness, a guiding light for those she leaves behind. Her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, we honor her memory best in happiness and gratitude for all we shared and learned from her.
