Irene (Kennedy) Persico, of Coral Springs, FL passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY to parents Joseph and Anne Kennedy. Preceded by the death of her husband, John Persico; parents Joseph and Anne Kennedy, and brother Joseph (Chips) Kennedy.

Irene was her happiest with her husband, John, until his death on October 31, 2012. Then a life of cruising with her best friend and chosen sister, Nancy Robert, gave her the greatest pleasure. She loved music and dancing and her cats.

She leaves behind her loving brother, Patrick (Darcy) Kennedy, nephew Adam and his family, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Her final wish was to be cremated and spend eternity with the love of her life, ‘Johnny Boy’ Persico.

Irene wanted to be remembered as ‘the party girl.’ She enjoyed classical dancing with Phyllis, line dancing with all her friends, cruising, a very special COVID activity with her friends when they did some very awesome Chinese cooking, and the “Salsa/Salsa” tour in Cozumel with Patrick, Darcy and Nancy (oh what a time that was!). She really got into holiday parties with friends and family at home, at the clubhouse and on cruises. She led the Civic Association to arrange all kinds of successful functions at the clubhouse, for which she had the benefit of many volunteers, and great participation by the residents, ‘back in the day.’
