James "Jim" Franklin Sobba, Sr.

James Franklin Sobba Sr, 85, of Cameron Park was called to Heaven on February 3, 2026.

Jim, as most people called him, was born in Mercedes, Texas on March 31, 1940 to John and Gaynell Sobba. Moved to Missouri and then came to California when he was 7 years old. He grew up in Winters, CA. Worked as a Plumber/Pipefitter and retired at age 57 and was a member of Local Union #447 for 60 years. Jim enjoyed traveling and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Zelma Sobba, his daughter Betty Ann Donk and her husband Gus Dank, daughter Deborah Stevens, 4 grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents John and Gaynell Sobba, brother Gene Sobba, sister Mary Hattabaugh, son James Sobba Jr., son Ronald Sobba.

He was truly a gentleman and loved by many.

His remains will be buried in Green Valley Cemetery, Cameron Park CA.
