James F. Murray, (Jim) died at home and peacefully in his sleep, June 14, 2023, of Alzheimer's disease.
He was a member and lot holder of the Escapees Park, Pair-A-Dice, in Pahrump, Nevada for the past 9 years.
He retired from Schuff Steel in Phoenix, AZ, in 2006, where he was a non-destructive testing inspector.
He and Barb then sold their house and moved into their 5th wheel RV and became Workampers for 3 years, working in Colorado, Idaho and Texas. After that traveling, they settled down to winters in Brenda, AZ and summers in Colorado, or the White Mountains of AZ, doing one cross country trip in 2009.
Jim's vision started to diminish, in 2014, due to Macular Degeneration, and they moved to a permanent space in Pahrump, Nevada.
While he still had adequate vision, Jim enjoyed building large wooden model boats and was just starting an interest in model trains when dementia and failing vision made it impossible to continue these pursuits.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara Gibbons, and sisters Linda Daniels and Karen (KK)) Beaty. His children and spouses are Sharon and Dave Turner, Jimmy and Cristina Murray, and Jenni and Tommy Swain.
Grandchildren include: Christy, Heather, Amy, James, Giorgio, Robyn, Andrew, and Melissa. He also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren.
He was especially fond of his Tennessee relatives that he acquired along with his step father, OT Beaty.
Jim is continuing his travels as his ashes will be buried at sea off the coast of San Diego. Happy Trails, Jim.
