Jeanne (Snyder) Shipp of Port Orange, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 9, 2026, just eight days shy of her 77th birthday, with her loving husband and daughter by her side.
She was born on January 17, 1949, in York, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Herman and Marian Snyder. She fell in love with her husband-to-be while they were in youth group at Windsor Assembly of God. She was married to her devoted and caring husband, Donald Shipp, for 55 years. In her later years, Jeanne lived with Alzheimer’s disease. Following a fall, her health declined, and she peacefully went home to heaven.
She was a dedicated paralegal for her entire career and retired after many years of service at Russell, Krafft & Gruber, LLP (now RKG Law) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
While living in East Petersburg, PA, she was an active member of Lancaster 1st Assembly of God. There, she volunteered with the Missionettes department, teaching the elementary and middle school girls’ classes. She was also involved with the Sunday School department and played the piano during the adult Sunday School class.
After retirement, she and Donald gladly moved from Pennsylvania's wintery weather to the balmy state of Florida to be closer to her daughter and family. While living in Port Orange, FL, she, once again, became active in the Kids’ Ministry at CrossRoads Bible Church in Daytona Beach. Teaching kids about Jesus was her passion.
It was a joy for her to attend the ladies’ Bible Study while living in Crane Lakes. She cherished the time with her friends and looked forward to going every week.
She was a dear friend to many, was known for her caring and compassionate heart, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She treasured time with her family and could never get enough! Her interests included studying the Bible, playing the piano, gardening, bird watching, playing tennis, bowling, listening to gospel music, and attending Christian concerts with her friends.
She was the precious, loving mother of Tracy Wenzel, wife of David, of Orlando, FL. She had two grandsons, Joshua and Luke, whom she loved "to the moon and back." She is also survived by her brothers, Bill Snyder (wife Betty) of Chambersburg, PA, Dave Snyder (wife Liz) of Chambersburg, PA, and Terry Snyder (wife Sharon) of Port Orange, FL, and her sister, Betty Jo Snyder of Port Orange, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at the Crane Lakes Ballroom, 1790 Crane Lakes Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32128, with her uncle, Rev. Dennis Snyder, officiating.
A private interment at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery will occur at the convenience of the family.
Floral tributes may be sent to the family home prior to the Celebration of Life at Donald Shipp, 1961 Crane Lakes Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32128. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Missions at CrossRoads Bible Church at https://crbible.com/give/.
