Joan Hopkins Tinei

Joan Hopkins Tinei (Beadle), age 94, of Venice, California, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2019. She is now reunited with her late daughter Cathie Brooks Larrick and other family and friends who have gone before her.

Joan was born on December 19, 1924, in New York. She was the daughter of the late Frank Irving Beadle and Lillian Loti Hopkins. Joan worked as a nurse and teacher. She enjoyed acting and singing and was an active member in the Agape Community in Venice, California.

In her spare time, she loved reading and writing affirmations for the Science of Mind magazine. She wrote several spiritual affirmation books and volunteered as a clown while visited children in the hospital in the United States and Internationally. Joan is survived by her daughter Peggi Nalani Larrick of Ontario, California, sons Aaron Tinei Su'apaia (Giselle Borland) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Manfred Arona Tinei of Venice, California and Kim Aloha Tinei (Desiree Acol) of Walnut Creek, California; sister Ruth Edquist of Virginia; grandchildren Krista Tinei Oakes, Louis Tinei-Acol, Alexis Tinei-Acol; great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday August 4, 2019 at Shoreline Park in Long Beach, California from 11:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m. Joan requested to be cremated and have her ashes spread over the ocean . Joan's immediate family will board a vessel with the The Angel's Ashes Company at 1:30 p.m. for this private ceremony.

• Med Star Hospice Care, Inc. 1801 S. Myrtle Avenue, Monrovia, CA 91016. The Hospice care team were instrumental in her transition and for that we are eternally grateful.
