Thank you one and all for your thoughts and remembrances of our beloved father and husband. We are still gathering information to create a proper obituary, and it will be updated soon. Until then, we want you to know that a memorial service is being planned for January 19, 2017, of course at Portland's St. James Lutheran Church, and time and details will be available soon. Meanwhile, trust that Judith, Ann, and Adam are grieving but strong with God's grace. Please be patient and gentle with us. Leaving your thoughts here, or by email, are easiest for us to appreciate at this time. Ironically, because of the immense love and inspiration Dad brought to the world and the countless people he affected, it's difficult for us to quickly ingest the incredible outpouring of love from those that knew him. We, his family, agree, that Dad would want you to enjoy your holidays, set aside your despair, and continue his mission to love all people equally as God does. The greatest thing you could do is carry his light and continue this mission.
