John “Jack” Badstibner, 90, of Moorpark, CA entered into the presence of the Lord, on April 2, 2025, after a 3-year battle with cancer, with his beloved wife and 3 children by his side. He was born on April 1, 1935, in McKeesport, PA, the son of the late Herman and Emily (Gleditsch) Badstibner.
Jack graduated from McKeesport High School and Robert Morris College. His 30-year career included positions with Textron, Robert Morris University, Gulf Oil and Chevron. He will lovingly be remembered for being able to fix anything and always being asked to “bring your tools.” He completely renovated 2 old houses long before it was a popular thing to do.
He was happiest with the simple things in life; Sunday dinner with the family, traveling the world, solving jigsaw puzzles while big band music plays in the background, and sitting on the patio enjoying wine, cheese, and crackers.
He was actively involved in community service throughout his life beginning as a Junior Achievement volunteer, township auditor and various roles and functions in the churches he attended. He was a member of Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, CA.
He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara (Bernie) Baur and is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Judith Killgallon, and his three children, John (Ellen) Badstibner of Kennett Square, PA, Sharon (Gary) Hagen of Moorpark, CA and James Badstibner of Santa Monica, CA. Pap was beloved and will be missed by his 4 grandchildren Emily Badstibner, Matthew Badstibner, Sarah (Andrew) Meck and Jessica (Cody) Edmonson and 4 great-grandchildren Jamaal & Caiden Brown, Anita & Walker Meck.
A Celebration of Life service will take place later at the Church at Rocky Peak in Chatsworth, CA. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life.
