John Alden Olson, beloved husband, father, craftsman, veteran, and lifelong electrician, was born on October 10, 1934, in Seattle, Washington, to Chester Olson and Eulia Blanche Richmond Olson.
John married Janet Marie Galli, and together they built a long and devoted life centered around family, hard work, and home. They raised two sons, Brit Olson and Wes Olson.
John served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Korean conflict and was stationed on Midway. Following his military service, he spent more than five decades working as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Reno, Nevada. He was known as a dependable and skilled worker who took pride in doing things the right way.
Outside of work, John loved building and creating with his hands. He spent countless hours in his shop working on woodworking projects, building models, fixing things, and improving the family home. He enjoyed clamming, sailing, and traveling in the family motorhome. More than anything, he enjoyed creating a warm and welcoming home life for Janet and his family.
John was part of a generation that valued commitment, craftsmanship, quiet strength, and responsibility. He leaves behind the memory of a man who worked hard, served faithfully, and cared deeply for the people around him.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Marie Olson; his sons, Brit Olson and Wes Olson; and many family members and friends whose lives were touched by his steady presence and generosity.
Memorial and service information will be announced by the family at a later date.
