John Zlatko Prusac

John Zlatko Prusac passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born in Otok, Croatia. As a teenager he decided he wanted to go to America. He traveled by ship from Italy and arrived to New York on his 18th Birthday. He loved New York hot dogs and was fascinated with the different color cars he saw. He took a train to Dearborn, Michigan where his aunt Mary and family were waiting for him. His first job was with Chevrolet Auto Company. He attended Lawrence Institute of Technology and earned his Industrial Engineering degree. For most of his life he worked in the forging industry. He also worked as a interpreter for the US Military in Kosovo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. He tried retiring, but preferred to stay busy and went back to work until he retired at the age of 81.

He was the most wonderful, loving man to his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and road trips. We all loved him. He left behind his wife of 46 years, Branka Prusac, daughter Katarina and husband Jon Jeffrey, Zeljka and husband Tim Hartley, Sons Anthony and Alan Prusac, grandchildren Katherine and Elizabeth Hartley, Jake Prusac, Reid and Mila Jeffrey, brothers Zvonko Prusac, Zdravko and wife Ljuba Rom, sister Jackie and husband Ivica Bakic, sister in law Katarina Cingel and many more relatives and friends in the US, Canada, and Croatia . John is missed dearly by everyone.
