John Richard Randall, 75, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his children on May 13th, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. John was a gift of unwavering strength whose greatest joy came from his love for his children and his pride in his grandchildren. His belief in God as YHWH, His Breath in Our Lungs, will forever be a blessing to his family for generations to come.

Born in Colville, Washington, and raised in Lindsborg, Kansas, John was the son of John W. “Bill” Randall and Walborg A. “Wally” Johnson Randall. John served as an Airborne Ranger during the Vietnam War, specializing in long-range reconnaissance patrols, also known as LRRPs.

After returning home John began his career as a skilled carpenter and drywall finisher retiring in 2013 after 39 years of building and restoring homes across Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Hampton Roads, Virginia. John lived in several states throughout his life, but Virginia Beach, Virginia won his heart. John was an incredible fisherman and enjoyed sitting quietly watching the sunrise at Rudee Inlet while fishing for flounder. He will forever be remembered as the greatest storyteller, weatherman, and bird whisperer.

He is survived by his children Jennifer Randall-Boutte, Jessica A. Bentley, Adrienne L. Ford (Matthew Ford), John A. Randall, eight grandchildren, and sister Janette Crowther. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Wally Randall, sister Judy Anderson (Wayne Anderson), brother-in-law Stewart Crowther, and granddaughter Kiah Grace Boutte.
