Joseph DeCluette
August 1st, 1951-
September 2nd, 2022
Joseph was born on August 1, 1951 at his home in Ames, Texas to mother, Bertha Lee Coleman DeCluette and father, John DeCluette who both preceded him in death. Also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lois DeCluette and his granddaughter, Angel Christine Schiller.
Joseph was an energetic young man who loved a challenge especially when he was told he couldn’t. He was also encouraged by those who told him he could. He grew up in Ames and Liberty, Texas where he went to Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School and Liberty High School with all his family and childhood friends.
When Joseph was in 9th grade he relocated to Toledo, Ohio where he attended Scott High School. He often spoke of his high school teacher, Mr. Vines who told him to stop being a slacker in high school, work hard and go to college to learn a lifelong career.
Joseph served his country during the Viet Nam Era and then returned to China, Texas to marry his beloved wife and life long partner, Jenny Edwards DeCluette. He then went on to achieve a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and an Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting. He worked in the field as an employee from 1980 to 1984 trying to fit in but he longed to be his own boss. In 1984 he announced his new business, The Cad Assistant, Inc. which he launched as a CAD Consulting business. He worked in his client’s offices until he opened his own office where he worked until he retired in 2004 due to his impending health issues.
Although his health was a challenge he went on living his life to the fullest. His passion was photography and his family. Joseph and Jenny had 4 children, Bryan, Monica, Veronica and Michael and 3 grandchildren, Christian, Angel Christine and Dominic from daughter, Veronica. Joseph was a good provider, husband and family man and he will be sorely missed.
Joseph is survived by his Sweetie, Jenny DeCluette of Maple Valley, WA, Son, Bryan DeCluette of Maple Valley, WA, Daughter, Monica DeCluette of Renton, WA, Daughter, Veronica DeCluette Soriano of Maple Valley, WA, Son, Michael DeCluette of Kirkland, WA, Grandson, Christian Soriano of Maple Valley, WA, Grandson, Dominic Joseph Schiller of Maple Valley, WA, Brother, John DeCluette of Denver, Co, Sister, Lillie Bernard of Liberty, Tx, Sister, Geraldine Sparrow of Aurora, Co and a host of in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Joseph will be remembered for the way he loved to dance, be silly, make everyone laugh and for his big smile.
