Juanita Marie Roberts

She was born Juanita Marie Exendine, January 17, 1932, to Jesse James Exendine and Nora Belle Hammons; and living a wonderful, rich life, died February 12, 2017. The youngest daughter of eleven children, she was the last surviving sibling. Juanita married Robert (Bob) James Roberts on August 5, 1950, in Los Angeles, CA.
Her qualities were graciousness, selflessness, a quiet spirit, untiring, well known, and well loved. Her selfless servant heart made serving others in church, a joy. An invisible servant by choice, made her visible to all around her. She loved to sing at church, cook, sew, knit, and read the Bible or a good mystery novel. Juanita was beloved by Bob for 66 ½ years in their marriage.
Juanita is survived by her Husband Bob and four children, Janet, Bob Jr., Jody, and Richard. There are six grandchildren: Jonathan, Trae, Matthew, David, Michal, and Joshua and 9 great grandchildren: Zackary, Janna, Zayden, Jacob, Ryker, Abigail, Rebecca, David Jr., Samuel, one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
Though no services will be observed outside of immediate family, we ask that in lieu of flowers you may donate to the Run for Joy, Inc. which was established to honor Rebecca Joy Wiggins, her Great Granddaughter who passed away in 2014. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities that helps families with little ones in the hospital. You can find more details on how to donate by clicking the link under her picture.
Bob requests that each family member and friend celebrate Juanita by reflecting on her quiet, servant-centered spirit and love for the Lord, her family, and friends. Her favorite song by Civilla D. Martin is "His Eye is on the Sparrow:"

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
