Obituary for Julia Allen:

Julia Allen, known to many as Mama/Auntie Julie A., peacefully passed away at her home in Van Nuys, California, on April 30, 2024. Born in New Bedford, MA, on June 16, 1942, Julie led a remarkable life full of love, laughter, and resilience.

In her early years, Julia graduated from Holy Family High School in the Class of 1960 and went on to attend U MA Dartmouth. She then embarked on a successful career as the Owner/Operator of a Medical Transcription Business until her retirement in 2015.

Julia's proudest accomplishment was owning and operating her own business. She poured her heart and soul into her work and was highly respected by all who knew her professionally. Her dedication and hard work were truly inspiring.

Throughout her life, Julia never shied away from challenges. She was known for her unwavering optimism and for always finding humor in any situation. "Julie was never a quitter," as many would attest. Her smile and kind words touched the hearts of everyone around her.

Aside from her professional achievements, Julia had a deep love for sports and enjoyed playing Bingo. In the early 1970s, she served as the Host for Bingo at a local hospital and was also involved in a local theatre group in New Bedford, MA.

Family meant everything to Julia. She cherished moments spent reminiscing with loved ones and leaves behind fond memories with family gatherings. Julia is survived by five siblings: Theresa Allen, Thomas (Christine), Esther Lallemand (Jacques), James (Barbara), Elizabeth Daniels; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; and many cousins.

In addition to her immediate family members, Julia is preceded in death by her parents Thomas F. and Esther V. Allen and grandparents James W and Julia O'Day.

Julia's legacy will live on through all those whose lives she touched with her infectious positivity and unwavering strength. Her 42 years of sobriety stand as a testament to her resilience and determination.

Julia Allen will be dearly missed by all who knew her but will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of light and love.

May she rest in peace knowing she made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with such an extraordinary woman.
