Juliet Estelle Masson

Juliet Romero Masson was born in San Diego in 1943 to Ides, a sailor who served on the USS Enterprise during WWII, and Estelle Romero a transplant from Idaho. Known to her friends and family as CrazyJulie, she is survived by her husband Jean-Pierre, son Joel, grandchildren Amelie, Jonah, and Isabelle, as well as her sister Linda, brother Ron as well as her nieces, nephews, and close friends in the San Diego area she’s known since the 1960’s.

She met her husband at 17 while attending a Marine Ball. He was there because he was a Marine at MCRD. She was there because she loved to dance. They were married for 58 years and lived a life full of love, fun and adventure.

As a native San Diegan, she was a graduate of Mount Miguel HS and SDSU and completed her Master’s Degree at Azusa Pacific University. Everyone who knew her referred to her as the Energizer Bunny because she had endless energy for her family, friends and the students she taught for almost 40 years in Orange County. She demonstrated a level of brilliance that enabled her to work full-time, be a wonderful wife and mother, coach soccer, be the scout leader, complete her masters degree, take middle and high-school students on trips to DC and Europe, and all that with very little sleep!

Even up until a few years ago, she missed being a teacher as well as helping anyone who needed it because she had a heart to love and help people.
