Obituary

June embodied warmth and kindness, instilling comfort in the homes and hearts she touched.

June Suzanna Sanchez, born on June 1, 1938 in the sweeping beauty of Colorado, passed away on August 14, 2020. The world lost a truly remarkable woman whose loving presence enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

From her earliest days, June embodied warmth and kindness, instilling comfort in the homes and hearts she touched. She spent over half a century working at Del Tronics Corporation in Costa Mesa—a testament to her fierce dedication and tireless work ethic. Her colleagues, who saw her day in and day out, knew her as someone who met each challenge with grace, working overtime, handling weekends and holidays, always seeing the job through. It was never just about earning a living; for June, it was about giving her best, every time.

Despite the long days and heavy responsibilities, June never neglected the joys of her personal life. She had an abiding passion for shopping—an activity less about acquiring than about finding the perfect surprises for those she loved. Grocery shopping was another favorite, for she cherished the opportunity to fill her home with warmth and nourishment. When she had the time, cooking became an act of love, but even on the days when energy was stretched thin, she found simple pleasures; perhaps nothing delighted her more than bringing home Kentucky Fried Chicken, her cherished favorite, with all the fixings to share.

Her home was always open, always bright—a place where everything was made to look nice, to feel welcoming, no matter how busy her life became. After a long day at work, she’d return to create an atmosphere in which everyone felt safe, comfortable, and loved. Laughter filled the rooms, and even when times were tough, June’s smile never faded. Her fun-loving spirit, her joy in seemingly simple things, invited happiness and ease into the daily lives of her family.

Her home was always open, always bright—a place where everything was made to look nice, to feel welcoming.

Perhaps what truly set June apart was her unwavering generosity of spirit. She never turned her back on anyone. Her door, just like her heart, remained ever open. Whether caring for her own children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, she extended comfort, support, and unconditional love. She never spoke ill of anyone, even when mistakes were made. Compassion and forgiveness came naturally to her, and she guided those around her by quiet example. She gave her all, right up until her final moments.

Those mourning June’s passing include her beloved children, Louise Sanchez and Tony Sanchez, as well as her grandchildren and their families: Louisa Dooty, Heather Sanchez, Holly Sanchez, Naomi Sanchez, Dustin Gillum, Aron Gillum, and their children—her cherished great-grandchildren: Elijah Vredenburg, Brayden Gillum, Devin Ruiz, Emilio Sanchez, Everleigh Gillum, Juliana Ruiz, Robert Dooty, Ronan Gillum, Ryan Dooty, Scarlette Murad, and Allison Vredenburg. In their hearts, June’s memory lives on in every moment of comfort, every shared laugh, every gathering around the kitchen table.

She is reunited in peace with her son, David Sanchez, and her sister, Loretta Sandoval, whose memories she held dear.

June Suzanna Sanchez will be remembered most not for accolades, but for her gentle strength, her tireless nurture, and the enduring legacy of kindness she leaves. Those who shared life with her—family, friends, and colleagues—carry forward her warmth, her laughter, and above all, her deep and abiding love.

June’s smile never faded. Her fun-loving spirit, her joy in seemingly simple things, invited happiness and ease into the daily lives of her family.

Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit remains eternally embedded in the fabric of the lives she so beautifully helped weave.
