Kenneth Vernon Gearhart, 83, formerly of Etters, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his residence in Port Orchard, Washington.

Ken recently celebrated his 83rd birthday on Saturday, September 26th, 2020. He was born in McVeytown, Pennsylvania the oldest son of Lawrence and Mary (Glasgow) Gearhart of Lisburn, Pennsylvania. He graduated from West Shore High School and entered the United States Air Force specializing as a radarman. He was stationed in Great Falls, Montana for four years. Upon returning home to Lisburn he married Patricia J. Anoka on February 10th, 1963. Ken and Pat celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year. Ken went to work for PP & L at Brunner Island as a maintenance mechanic and retired in 1995. He was an assistant Scout Master for Troop #198 in Etters. Ken and Patricia moved to Washington state to spend their remaining years with their only son, Jeffrey Allen Gearhart.

Ken enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, camping and writing letters as well as reading about the Civil War and the Old West. He was a talented wood carving enthusiast. Ken and Patricia loved to travel and spent many vacations visiting places of interest with family and friends.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Lawrence Gearhart of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and his beloved younger sister, Patricia Ann (Meyers) Witherow of Halifax, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Patricia Joanne (Anoka) Gearhart and his son Jeffrey Allen Gearhart and wife and their son, daughter-in-law and great grand daughter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ken was cremated and his ashes will be placed in a private family service.
