Kenneth Ray John, the oldest of six boys, was born to Bertie and David John in Toppenish, WA. on March 9, 1945, and passed away January 5, 2026, in Everett, WA. from Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer.
Ken retired a MSGT. in the USAF in 1986 and had served in Germany, Japan and Vietnam. His second career was in IT with UW, retiring in 2014.
He had a passion for woodworking since high school and became a master woodworker. Ken married Nora McNerthney on St.Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1998, at Lake Tahoe, NV. Once Nora planted a blueberry bush Ken became a gardener, enjoying and sharing the fruits and berries of his many plantings.
He was a “Pack Rat” who believed anything and everything could eventually be useful. His childhood growing up on a farm re-inforced that belief.
Ken was pre-deceased by his parents and brothers Kevin, Douglas and Steven. He is survived by his wife, Nora, and brothers Timothy (Suzane) McGrath of Spring Hill, FL., and Harold Dennis John of Snohomish, WA., nieces and nephews.
Ken’s life will be celebrated at a later date and will be at rest at Mt.Tahoma National Cemetery. He had supported charities that support Veterans and K9s.
