Landon Keith Balke, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 16, 1980, in Lubbock, Texas, Landon lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family.
The first-born son to Keith and Clydene Balke, Landon was soon joined by his brothers Eric and Jon. Growing up as the oldest, he took care of and watched out for his brothers. He was graduated from Glendale High School in 1998. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management from the ASU William P. Carey School of Business - Summa Cum Laude - where he displayed a passion for learning that mirrored his humor and caring nature. A self-employed painter, Landon also served as an Assistant Manager at Dunn Edwards Paint Company, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence shone brightly.
To those who knew him, Landon was not just a man with a career; he was a deep thinker with a profound ability to connect with others. His kindness and sense of humor brought joy to countless individuals, often making those around him feel seen and valued. Landon was not one to seek the spotlight for himself; instead, he relished the happiness and successes of others, especially his children—Cody, Shelby, Bethany, and Bradley—whom he cherished above all else. Some of his most cherished memories were of his time as "Mr. Mom" taking care of his babies during their early years. He often remarked that they were the best part of his life, devoting his time and energy to being their unwavering supporter and loving father.
Landon battled metastatic melanoma with courage and grace. He showed a remarkable strength during his illness, a testament to his desire to make his family's lives brighter, even in difficult times. During his last few months he was more concerned with his family's welfare than his own suffering. His fight was a reflection of his character—always looking out for others, Landon embodied love and resilience until the very end.
Landon leaves behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and an enduring commitment to family. He is survived by his children - Cody Lawrence Balke, (20), Shelby Leigh Balke (18), Bethany Lorraine Balke (17) and Bradley Keith Balke (13), parents - Keith and Clydene Balke, his brothers - Eric Balke and Jon & Andrea Balke, nieces and nephews - Trina Balke, Emma (Balke) White, Noah Balke. While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will always be in our hearts and memories.
As we reflect on Landon’s life, we are reminded of the warmth he infused into our lives. We will carry forward his heart—a heart that cared deeply, laughed often, and loved fiercely. Though he rests now, his legacy and the memories shared will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
