In Loving Memory of Larry C. Bartels

With faith in God’s promises and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Larry C. Bartels, who entered the presence of the Lord on June 21, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 22, in Maquoketa, Iowa, Larry lived a life rooted in faith, love and devotion to his family. He was known for his kindness, strength, sense of humor and profound humility.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Vivian, and his three children: Barrett Chris (Rachel) Bartels and Brienna (Randy) Shivers and David (Mandy) Bartels.

Larry’s legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Brendan, Juliana, and Christian (children of Barrett and Rachel); Brycen and Kenley (children of Brienna and Randy); and Jaydyn, Jonah, and Jediah (children of David and Mandy). He is survived by his two sisters, Elenor (the late Duane) Bentrott and Phyllis (the late Leroy) Williams, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Christian F. Bartels and Julia D. Schroeder and many cousins and aunts and uncles.

For the majority of his life, Larry served in the electronics industry. His most enjoyable role was spending his final 13 working years as a manufacturer's representative, collaborating with a wonderful colleague and friend in Colorado.

His passions included poker, playing cards, reading, Phoenix Suns Basketball, Arizona Cardinals Football, watching his grandkids play sports and being with family.

While our hearts grieved this earthly loss, we rejoice in the assurance that Larry has been welcomed into eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
