Larry F. Martin (65), born in Los Angeles, California, passed April 12, 2023.
Larry F. Martin died from cancer in the care of the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas.
Larry Martin was born on May 26, 1957 to Glen and Loretta Martin. He loved football and was a quarterback in High School. Upon his father and best friend's passing, Larry decided to take up preaching the gospel of Christ. He went to Abilene Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree. He preached for over 20+ years within the Church of Christ (University Church of Christ in ABQ, Church of Christ in Estancia, and Church of Christ in Los Lunas).
In Larry's free time, he enjoyed reading the bible (Max Lucado), listening to music ( Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy), and playing sports. Daddy loved football, baseball, kickball, and tennis. He also played a mean game of Canasta and Monopoly.
Larry's pride and joy was his five kids. He is survived by his loving wife, Aurora Garza, and his five kids: Amanda Martin, Rachel Martin, Chad Martin, Courtney Martin, and Chelsea Martin.
He spent every day he lived working hard and providing for his family. In rememberance of Larry, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Comfort House (McAllen, Texas) in Larry's name who took such great care of him during his final days.
Larry left too soon and never was able to enjoy his retirement years but he forever lives in our hearts. May he forever rest in peace.
