Laurel Florenciano Ligad

Laurel F. Ligad, 65 of California, died, due to Lung Cancer Diagnosed on October of 2015. He died at 12:30 PM, Monday, May 15, 2017 at his daughter and son in law resident in San Diego. He was born September 12, 1951 in Bongao, Sulu, Philippines to Aurora F. Ligad and Lt. Col. Leoncio B. Ligad- both deceased. He studied School at Far Eastern University. got married in September of 1974 to his wife Teresita H. Ligad and survives ,they had their only daughter Teryle L. Gutierrez on October of 1976 also survives. Also his surviving are his three GrandChildren A.J., Aiden, and Tristen Gutierrez, who he loves and adores like no other, they were his everything and loved spending every minute with them. His son in law Jay Gutierrez who he highly adored and thought of with much respect, they formed a great bond that only exist between the two. His remaining siblings of four brothers and three sisters and their husbands John and Lorna Mitchell, Loida F. Ligad, Rod and Lerma Pires , Leo F. Ligad Jr. ( deceased) ,Lauro F. Ligad, and Lawrence Ligad, His nephew Jack Mitchell who he always thought of as his own son, they had lots of great memories and formed a special bond. The rest of his remaining families including his two other children Michael John Ligad and Cheryl Gene Ligad and his 3 other grandchildren, the rest of his nephews, nieces, cousins, some of his close friends and extended families. Laurel and his family migrated in the US on September 1986 and lived most of his life in a small town of Simi Valley, California and gradually moved to different parts of California including cities of Moorpark, Oxnard,Oceanside, Menifee, Escondido, and San Diego as the years passed. He worked as a Quality Assurance Inspector and held various different types of work including line cook, high quality speaker and subwoofer developer, auto mechanics, sales and yard work. Laurel was a Jack of all trades. He was a perfectionist at everything he did. He was also stubborn and always had to have his way. He was quite the comedian that makes him enjoyable to have around, even at his final moments he had his way of making everyone around him laugh and smile. He loved dogs and owned different types of breed as the years passed, he specially formed a special bond with his last dog name Choxie she has stood by his close side on his final moments of life, As the saying goes a man's best friend, proves it all between the two. On his free time he enjoys fishing, singing, listening to music, dancing, and drawing. Laurel lived a very simple life and was respected and loved by many. He died peacefully, comfortably and happy knowing he was home.

The staff was very personable, always came on time, and very attentive not only to Laurel's needs but to the rest of the families. We could not have asked for anything else, they definitely exceeded our expectations.

Special Thank you goes out to all the family and friends who came from different places to visit Laurel in the Hospital and at home on his final moments of his life. He enjoyed all of the visits and enjoyed all the stories and sharing all of his stories as well.
