Leo "Bud" Meyer, Jr. was born on January 29, 1935 and passed away on March 10, 2019. Leo was a resident of Palm Desert, California. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family returning to his heavenly home. Per Bud's wishes cremation rites will be granted. Bud was born in Lincoln, Illinois, the son of the late Leo H. Meyer, Sr. and Martha Lessen Meyer. He was united in marriage to Mary Virginia Harris on October 10, 1959.
He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps, aboard a Navy Air Craft Carrier, from 1953 to 1956. He loved his country, gladly serving with respect and dignity.
Bud was an avid golfer for many years and enjoyed playing in tournaments with his friends. He was very friendly and loved visiting with his wonderful family and friends. He loved listening to music of all types but his favorite was always Elvis. He also enjoyed watching his T.V. programs; Judge Judy and Jeopardy were a frequent presence in the background of his home. He worked in finance for many years both in banking and the auto industry where he finally retired from Fiesta Ford in Indio, California in 2016. He loved his work and the people he interacted with hence working well past retirement age. He was very intelligent and possessed a wonderful memory.
Leo is survived by his wife Virginia, three children Leisa, Dayna and Andy, four grandchildren Shane, Andrew, Abigail, and Avery and two great-grandchildren Lillian and Izabella. In addition, three brothers and a sister Terry Meyer, Danny Meyer, David Meyer and Mary Jane Novak.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Gordon Meyer, He was very proud of his entire family.
Bud loved his family dearly, was a kind and generous man with many friends and will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
