Lillian Ingrid Jensen Alber, 91, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018, at Guardian Care Assisted Living in Peoria, Arizona.

She was born on October 7, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to Lars and Hildur (Habberstad) Eidsheim.

On May 6, 1950 she married the love of her life Robert H. Jensen whom she was married to for forty years. He passed away on October 9, 1990.

On February 16, 1992 she married Walter Alber whom she was married to for eight years. He passed away on July 3, 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister, Sonja Ketcham, her only cousin, Howard Habberstad, who was like brother to her, and a step son, Donald Alber.

She is survived by her four children Robert Jensen of Chandler, Arizona, Deborah (Keith) VonGerichten of Peoria, Arizona, Diane (Richard) Prudente of Huntington Station, New York, and David (Gayla) Jensen of Glendale, Arizona, two step children, Diane (David) Alber Naujokas of NewPort Richey, Florida, Walter Alber of Thorton, Colorado, along with eighteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren (with another soon to arrive), and one great great grandchild.

Lovingly called Lil, by those who knew her, she was a kind, funny, generous, insistent, and overly accommodating woman who was a party planner, gourmet cook, and an unmatched baker. She loved to travel, especially to be with family for special occasions. Held close to her heart was her faith, family and friends.

She started her career at Gulf Oil Company in New York City eventually moving on to Evelyn Diamond Catering Business, where she was the head cook. While her family and friends enjoyed her delicious creations the most, she continued in her passion and gift for cooking, as she started her own catering business 'Bon Soirre' which yielded many happy customers. In 1981 she moved from New York to Arizona where she worked as a secretary at Hensley and Company in Phoenix, Arizona.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Hope Church, 26525 N. 19th Avenue Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday January 26 at 1pm. Her grandson, Pastor John Hickey and Pastor Paul Sorensen, of Hope Church, will officiate.

She will be buried at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Church or Guardian Care Assisted Living.
