Linda Lee Christensen

Linda Christensen, 76 left this earth peacefully on September 29th 2020 at her home in Oceanside, CA. She was born July 17th 1944 in Denver, CO, the daughter of William Edward Hake and Ruth Fern Hake. Linda grew up in Norton, KS and graduated from Norton Community High School in 1962.
In 1964, she married Douglas Fabricius of Bogue, Kansas. They were blessed with three children: Nikki, Andrea, and Charles. Through Doug's work, they lived in England and Delhi, India. While in India, Linda volunteered in Mother Teresa's orphanage. It was here that she and Douglas were able to adopt their son, Charles Fabricius. Volunteering in the orphanage strengthened Linda's resolve to work more with children. After leaving India, she lived in Milliken, CO raising children, working and attending college. In 1986 she graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with a Master's degree in Psychology. Early in her married life, she took an interest in learning to paint landscapes; later children's portraits became her specialty. Over the years friends and family became the recipients of her amazing art work.
In 1994, Linda moved to Rifle, CO where she worked as a school psychologist for the Rifle school district. She met and married Dr. George Christensen. When George retired, they made their second home in Carlsbad, CA in a retirement community. Linda spent hours feeding her artistic passion with home decorating, painting and was active in the retirement community. She later moved to a smaller community in Oceanside, CA and continued her desire to stay involved in home design. She and a friend started a small home staging business.
Linda is survived by her three children, Nikki (Bryan) Miller, Goodyear AZ; Charles (Tara Ferroni) Fabricus, Glendale AZ; Chris (Dayle) Christensen, Rifle, CO; 4 grandchildren, her pride and joy, Jessica (Kyle) Carrier, Goodyear AZ; Brett Christensen, Rifle, CO; Holly Christensen, Rifle, CO; Laney Ferroni, Glendale, AZ; 4 great grandchildren, Dylan, Landon, Jaxon and Evelyn, her siblings Bill (Mary) Hake, Turner, MT; Marvel Pierce, Tracy, CA; John (Sharon) Hake, Olathe, KS, 12 loving nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her daughter, Andrea Fabricus, 2 sisters and 2 brothers in law, Betty (Bill) Gearhart, Caroline Donald Hunter, husband Douglas Fabricus, and husband George Christensen.
Linda adored her children and grandchildren. She was always on a mission to provide gifts and experiences that would excite and thrill them. She was admired for her artistic talent, her sense of humor, her charm and her ability to pull everything together. She never went anywhere without her "parking lot angel". In her 76 years she created memories for all those who came in contact with her. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her family, children and grandchildren.
Due to Covid, a Celebration of Life will be held in Colorado in the Spring. She will be laid to rest near her daughter Andrea and her husband George.
