Linda Neunlist Mann

Linda Neunlist Mann, 76, of Tucson, Arizona died on May 2, 2024 at home.  Linda was born June 24, 1947 in Tennessee.  Her parents were Anne Mullins Neunlist and Ralph Edwin Neunlist.  During childhood she lived with her parents and younger siblings in Huntsville, Alabama and Sunnyvale, California.  She earned a BA and MSW from the University of Alabama and a PhD from the University of Maryland.  During the 1970s, as a military spouse, Linda lived in Germany and Texas.
From 1980 until retirement, Linda lived and worked in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.  She worked for the Maryland Department of Social Services, Childrens' Hospital in Washington D.C., health management firms, adoption agencies, and for Westat, a health care research company headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.  Linda was also a psychotherapist in private practice.  During this time, she studied photography and art at Montgomery College, Rockville, MD.
Following retirement, Linda and her husband, Joseph Puskar, moved to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  She continued her art education with drawing and painting classes.  Linda also traveled extensively, taking workshops and photographs in many scenic areas.  She showed and sold her photographs and other artwork.
Linda began spending winters in Tucson in 2008 and relocated full time in 2018.  She continued taking art classes and workshops.  She was in many national juried shows and represented by numerous galleries.  Her work is in private and corporate art collections in the United States and Canada.  She was a member of many art organizations, including Oil Painters of America, the International Guild of Realism, and Women Artists of the West.  She always had a deep love for animals, especially horses and cats, often using them as subjects for her artwork. Linda also loved the Southwestern desert and especially enjoyed painting cactus flowers.
Linda is survived by her husband Joseph Puskar of Tucson, her son Austin Russell Mann of Guntersville, AL, her granddaughter Grace Mann of Vestavia Hills, AL, her sister Donna Patrick (Stanley) of Frisco, TX, and her brother Ralph Edwin Neunlist (Sarah Gabler) of Arlington, VA.  She also has nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Ralph Neunlist, and her former husband Robert Mann.
Following cremation, no memorial service is planned.  Donations may be made in her name to her favorite charities: DigDeep Navajo Water Project in Los Angeles, California, PAWSitively Cat Shelter in Tucson, and the Tucson Wildlife Center.
