Linda Sue Scott

Ms. Linda Sue Scott, 78, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2026.

Linda was born on May 17, 1948, in Galveston, Texas, the youngest daughter of James Morgan and Mary Aliene (Praesel) Bounds. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1966 and went on to build a career as a secretary and bookkeeper. Linda retired from First Financial Bank and Trust in 2012 after many years of dedicated service.

Linda was the loving mother of two sons: Charles (Katie) Scott of Abilene and Bryan (Mandi) Scott of Lubbock. She was also cherished by her grandchildren: Morgan (Nati) Sandoval of Lubbock; Dillon (Cierra) Scott of Stephenville; and Ella, Gus, and Teddy Scott, all of Abilene. Her great-grandsons, Quade Ryan Sandoval of Lubbock and Ollie Christopher (OC) Scott of Stephenville, brought her immense joy. Linda is also survived by her siblings: Joan (Don) Winkles of Brenham, Gary Bounds of Round Rock, and David (Blanche) Bounds of Fort Worth. A very special friend, Raymond Lindsey of Wingate, Texas, held a dear place in her heart.

Linda found joy in spending time with her mother, watching animals, reading, and celebrating life with her family and friends. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Abilene for many years. Linda was ready to walk the Streets of Gold with Jesus.

She will be cremated, and her ashes will rest with her parents at the Palm Valley Lutheran Church Columbarium in Round Rock.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to Wesley Court, Hendricks Hospital, Hendricks Hospice, or your local animal shelter in Linda’s honor. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wesley Court, Hendricks Hospital, and Hendricks Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.
