Lisa was born and raised in Berkeley California and would ride the train to Bakersfield to spend her summer with her beloved Aunt Julia. Lisa attended Stanislaus State University for two years, then after decided to become a travel agent for a few years. After a career change, while working at the Varco Pruden Building as an administration assistant she then met the man of her life Chuck Givens. For the next 10 years they were a happy couple before they wed on January 1st, 2000; combining their families together Lisa with her beloved son C.W and Chuck’s three daughters Denise, Jenny, and Charlotte. For the next twenty-two years they lived their lives together watching their family grow tremendously with a total of twelve grandchildren (Vanessa, Miguel, Julie, Daisy, Anthony, Esmerelda, Alex, Hailey, Frank, Robert, Shelby, and Miklo) and two great grandchildren (Niccolo and Samera)

Lisa woke up every morning and chose to be happy no matter the circumstance. She embraced her grandchildren loved and nurtured them. She took advantage of any opportunity she had to teach them as much as she could. She loved to share her puzzles and games with them as well as create any learning activities she thought would allow them to prosper in their future endeavors.

In 2013 Lisa landed her dream job at Merced College as an administrative assistant to the dean of Fine and Performing Arts & Social Sciences which she absolutely cherished. She worked diligently and enjoyed working on meeting crucial deadlines. Lisa was excited to start very last project when she suffered her brain aneurysm that took her suddenly from us. She died doing what she loved. Lisa is already missed deeply by her loving husband Chuck and will be missed by her family, friends and many of her colleagues.
