Lois Sharon Wadman

Lois Sharon Wadman, 86, of San Jose passed away peacefully on June 20, 2019, with her loving family around her.

Sharon was born January 8, 1933, in Boulder CO to Paul and Elizabeth Hill. She attended California State University San Jose and graduated in 1972 with a BA degree in Behavioral Science and a minor in Psychology/Special Education. She married Loran (Larry) Wadman in 1950. They raised three children and divorced in 1978.

Sharon had a passion for music, reading and travel. She and her significant partner of 40 years, Gordon Elliott, held season tickets for many years and attended plays and operas at the Bay Area theaters. They also traveled to several different countries. Sharon worked in education for years, beginning at Hope School in 1959 through 1971. In 1972, she began teaching in San Jose School District at the elementary level and retired after 22 years from the Alum Rock School District. Sharon retired in 1994. She was an advocate for children and strived to make a difference in their early lives.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Elizabeth Hill, and her ex-husband Larry Wadman. She is survived by her loving partner, Gordon Elliott, daughter Roxanne Guffy Iddings (Don), and her two sons Loran Wood Wadman III and Randall (Randy) Wadman, her grandchildren Jason Guffy (Whitney), Gina Guffy, Ryan Noack (Caitlin), Lora, Micheal and Eddie Wadman, and several nieces and nephews. She would have been a first time great grandmother in July, which she was elated about.

Sharon will be remembered by her family and friends for her laugh, quick wit, and her great sense of humor. All will remember her kindness, caring and compassion for others. Sharon first and foremost loved being a mom. Family was everything to her. She will be deeply missed. A celebration of life service will be held in August.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to VITAS Hospice online at http://vitascommunityconnection.org/community-connection/donate. Checks by mail can be sent to 670 N McCarthy Blvd Suite 220 Milpitas CA 95035.
