Lorraine Burke Haas, affectionately known as “The Burke Girl,” was born on February 6, 1953, in California. She passed away on September 1, 2024, in South Lake Tahoe, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories woven through a life characterized by passion, adventure, and steadfast love.

Lorraine led an extraordinary life that spanned various careers and adventures. In the vibrant world of Hollywood she made her debut, then she forged her path shining brightly as a casino hostess at Harvey’s in the 1980s. Her adventurous spirit continued to soar as she took to the skies as a flight attendant for SkyWest Airlines in the 2000s. However, her most cherished role was that of a devoted and nurturing “Child Development Specialist,” better known as Mom. The dedication she poured into her family was unparalleled.

A lover of nature and the great outdoors, Lorraine cherished exploring Lake Tahoe, where she created countless joyful memories. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, and she imparted her profound love of animals and nature to her daughter, Christine. Together, they nurtured a menagerie of pets and enjoyed horseback riding, camping, swimming, and so much more, cultivating an appreciation for the world around them.

Lorraine was a headstrong individual with a passionate and adventurous personality. She embraced every challenge with a fierce love and determination, never shying away from the opportunity to grow. One of her proudest accomplishments was the unwavering commitment she made to her family, raising Christine with care and supporting her aging parents with grace.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Fredrick Haas; her cherished daughter, Christine Haas; and her infant grandson, Rorin Haas. She now joins her beloved parents, Edmund and Lucille Burke, who preceded her in death.

As we remember Lorraine Burke Haas, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose impact on her family and friends will forever resonate. Her spirit, love for adventure, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
