Louis Henry Beckman

Born August 31, 1935 in Greencreek, Idaho to Sylvester and Teresa Beckman. Louis was the 3rd of 10 children. He attended school in Greencreek and finished his education by graduating with an Accounting degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington.

While in Spokane working at Dakins Jewelery in Spokane, he met and married Rose Roberts of Salmon Idaho.

Louis eventually began working for William J. Reily and Associates as a CPA and had two children. David Beckman of Spokane and Diana (Dan) Beckman Young of Colton, Washington.

Louis later moved to the Tri-cities where he married and operated a private practice with Viola Reams. He later dissolved both his business and personal relationship and began his own private practice.

Louis spent over 65 years as an active member of the Elks Society both in Spokane and the Tri-cities where he advanced to the Assistant Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. At the time of his retirement as an active CPS he continued to manage the finances for the Tri-cities Lodge. He was also an active member of the Kiwanis, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Governor.

Louis was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland.

Louis loved to play cards, especially Pinochle and golf. He also loved to travel making journeys to South East Asia, Europe, Germany, France and Italy. When his travel days were over he transferred his focus to hocky, enjoying being a Season Pass holder to the Tri-cities Americans.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Teresa Nuxol Beckman; and siblings: Margaret Beckman Fettig, Cletus Beckman, Jim Beckman and Fred Beckman. He is survived by brothers: Tom Beckman, Bob Beckman, sisters: Joan Beckman, Kathy Beckman Bone and MaryAnn Beckman Rector. He is also survived by his children, David Beckman, Diana Beckman Young; Grandchildren: Brian Young and Heather Young and Great Grand-daughter: Naomi Young.
