Loyd Goulter of Reedsport, Oregon died peacefully on September 15, 2018 in Roseburg, OR. He was 74 years old. Loyd was raised in Grants Pass, Oregon with his sister Sherry. He played football and wrestled in high school. He is survived by his wife, Anna Goulter, sister Sherry, son Eric Goulter, daughter Amy Goulter-Allen, step-daughter Maria Theis, six Grandsons, Payton, Nick, Hal, Cole, Joshua, and Emmett, and granddaughter Nicole.

Loyd joined the Marines right out of HS and fought in the Vietnam conflict in Cambodia. After the Marines, he worked in the Grand Canyon National Park as a Mule skinner (rode the mules up and down the canyon for tourists) and ranger. Loyd met Suellen Penson and they married in 1966 and moved to Yosemite National Park where they both worked. Son, Eric Warren Goulter born in June 1967 in Yosemite. They eventually moved to Seattle, but the marriage ended and Loyd moved back to Oregon.

Loyd married Linda Loper in 1972. Daughter Amy Katherine Goulter born in October 1974 in Medford, OR. Loyd enlisted in the Army the same year. They spent a year in Colorado and then were stationed in Germany for 3 years. After that they were stationed in Fort Lewis, WA where he finished out his service in the Army. They moved back to Oregon.

Loyd later went to Nursing school and became an RN. Loyd eventually moved to Reedsport, OR and worked as a surgical Nurse. He then became manager of the Surgery Department at Lower Umpqua Hospital where he worked for 13 years. Loyd met Ann while working at the hospital and they were married in 2002. They lived in Brookings, OR for a few years where Loyd served as a Peace Officer at the Pelican Bay State Prison hospital. They moved back to Reedsport after retiring in 2008.

Loyd enjoyed reading, watching football & cooking shows, travel, and grandkids.

He was loved and will be missed.
