Lynn Erickson

Lynn Erickson, 80, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2012 while surrounded by family. Lynn was born on June 25, 1932 in South Shore, South Dakota to Theodore and Ida Erickson. He was the youngest of eight children including sisters Gladys Morrison, Ferne Christiansen, Dorothy Clarke, Mavis Wight, and Dawn Erickson and brothers Don Erickson and Richard (Dick) Erickson. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy; sister Dorothy; sons Todd (Lauri) Erickson of Chandler, Arizona, Craig (Judi) Erickson of West Des Moines, Iowa; and Marc Erickson of Lynnwood, Washington; his four grandchildren Ben, Caroline, Grace and Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynn graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls in 1954 with a degree in business. He served on active duty in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He married Nancy Carol Dirksen on December 2, 1961 in Pierre, South Dakota. The couple lived in Pierre, Huron, Sioux Falls, and Yankton, South Dakota and in 1970 settled in Sioux City, Iowa where they raised their family. They retired to Mesa in 2006. Lynn worked for GAB Business Services as an insurance claims adjuster for over 35 years until his retirement in 1997. He was also a long-time member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sioux City. A memorial service celebrating Lynn'?s life will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00 am at Brentwood Southern Community Clubhouse, located at 8104 E. Southern Ave, Mesa AZ 85209.
