Lynn Chiyo Kihara, born on March 10, 1950, in Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, in Brea, California, after a brave two-year battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Lynn was comforted by the presence of her family, who surrounded her with love and support in her final weeks.
Lynn dedicated much of her life to her work, holding various office and clerical positions at both the Newport Beach and Anaheim Police Departments. Her career culminated in her role at a law office prior to her retirement. Known for her meticulous nature and exceptional attention to detail, Lynn was a valued employee whose work ethic earned her the respect of her peers.
Although Lynn was a private individual, she found joy in her hobbies and interests. She had a passion for watercolor painting, often creating beautiful Christmas cards to share with her family and friends. Music and musical theater also held a special place in her heart, with her most recent enthusiasm being for the K-Pop sensation, BTS.
Lynn is survived by her sisters: Jan Maddox (Jerry), Joy Kihara (Mark Dillow), Kimi Quint (Dennis), and Kari Kihara. She also leaves behind her niece, Jessica Castro (Corey), her nephews, Geoffry Gambling and Kyle Quint, and her great-niece, Alice Castro.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Wataru and Bernice Toshiko Kihara, and her brother, Edward Kaoru. As those who knew her reflect on her life, they will remember a woman whose kindness, creativity, and dedication left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
