Margaret Josephine Rosenkoetter

Margaret Josephine Rosenkoetter (Margie), 98, of Bedford, Texas, passed over to her Heavenly home at 4:51am on July 23, 2022.

Margaret was born in Quincy, Illinois, December 28, 1923, to Frederick J. Weichman and Florence Ruth Savage.

She attended Quincy High School in Quincy, Illinois and studied at Quincy University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education. 

She married Richard Henry Rosenkoetter, February 8, 1941, in New London, Ralls County, Missouri.

She and Richard had 6 children, Richard Henry Rosenkoetter, Jr.; Nancy Cope; Charlotte, Dorothy "Irish" Russell; Charles "Chuck" Rosenkoetter and Paulette Bangert.

After raising her children, she returned to school, received her GED and went on to obtain her bachelor’s at Quincy University in 1969.  She taught art at Payson Seymour Elementary in Payson, Illinois for 17 years beginning 1969 through 1986.

She moved from Quincy Illinois in the mid 90’s and she and Richard made homes in the following states:  South Carolina, Georgia, California and Texas.

She was an avid painter all her life and painted many paintings for her children and grandchildren, continuing painting into her early nineties.

She wrote 3 books: Memories of Sixty-five Years Plus; Love Under the Overpass: Into the Refiner’s Fires; Love Away from the Underpass: Out of the Refiner’s Fire into His Grace; all by M. J. Rosenkoetter.  Each of these are available on Amazon.

Out of all her accomplishments, her greatest desire was to make sure everyone she came in contact with, knew Jesus and that they were confident of going to Heaven.  Each person, she would meet, she would ask, "Who is Jesus to you"?  

Margaret is survived by Richard (Linda) Rosenkoetter, Jr. of Ashland, Ohio, Nancy (Craig) Cope of Riverside, California, Chuck (Susan) Rosenkoetter of Jackson, Missouri, Paulette (Ronald) Bangert of Bedford, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sisters, brothers, daughter, Charlotte, husband, Richard H. Rosenkoetter and daughter, Dorothy "Irish" Russell.

 A small memorial service will be held for her in Quincy, Illinois, at St. John’s Cathedral located at 3728 Payson Road, Quincy, Illinois 62305. Service will be August 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

An additional service will be held in Texas for family and friends at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, at 10:00 am on August 20, 2022.  The Chapel is located at 185 S. White Chapel Blvd, Southlake, Texas 76092.
