Margaret Russell

Margaret "Maggie" Russell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and cherished friend, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on December 29, 1953, Maggie was known for her warm and welcoming nature, often serving as the life of the party, with a great sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her.

Maggie's dedication to her family was unwavering. She devoted her life to raising her children, Megan Forcke and Eddie Russell, and embraced her role as a mother with great love and commitment. Maggie was actively involved in her children's educational journey, volunteering tirelessly at their school and holding various leadership positions, including that of PTA president, scout leader and chaperone. In her later years, she took great pleasure in teaching her grandchildren through what she affectionately called "grandma school," creating lasting memories that they will cherish forever.

Holidays were a time of celebration in Maggie's home, where she loved hosting family gatherings. Her festive spirit shone through in everything she did, from baking exquisite Easter cakes to carving pumpkins with her grandchildren and decorating her house for every occasion.

Maggie's artistic talents were evident in her love for crocheting, creating cherished baby blankets that will be treasured for years to come. She also spent many years painting ceramics, forming lasting friendships with her fellow artists along the way. She found joy in sharing her talents and creativity, enhancing the lives of those around her through her handmade gifts.

Maggie is survived by her devoted husband, Eddie Russell; her daughter, Megan Forcke, and son-in-law, Eric Forcke; and her son, Eddie Russell, Jr. She was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, August Forcke and Tillie Forcke. Maggie is further survived by her brother, Bill Richardson, and her brother-in-law, Butch Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and William Richardson, her sisters, Dorothy Foster and Cece Mollohan, and many other loved ones who will be waiting to greet her.

Maggie's vibrant spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and family devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
