Maria Dye

Maria Dye, 69, of Indio, California, passed away Sunday May 21, 2017 at her home in Indio, California. She was born on September 8, 1947 to Peter and Radmila Lukich in Pancevo, Serbia and was four years old when she and her mother moved to America to be reunited with her father who already begun to provide for their new home. After graduating high school, she began her working career at United Airlines. A few short years down the road she met and married the love of her life, Craig Dye. As they began a family of their own, she decided to take an extended maternity leave to enjoy as many years as possible with their two daughters. She briefly worked for Seiko and Ampex before working for the Riverside County Sheriff Dept in the Special Investigation Bureau. This is where she found her perfect career and continued in her position there until she retired after nearly 22 years of service.

She is survived by her husband Craig Dye, their daughters Shawna Schmidt (David) and Lisa Kyser (Jonathan), her parents Peter and Radmila Lukich, her brother Ivan Lukich, and uncle Dušan Petrovich, her grandchildren that she loved with all her heart, Jonah Wass (Kyra), Brandon Wass, Dylan Schmidt and Zane Kyser, as well as two stepgrandsons Lance Kyser (Ariel) and Camron Kyser, and finally her great grandson Jasper Wass and step great granddaughter Edith Kyser and many other beloved family members.

All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend a memorial service that will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 46-300 Dune Palms Road La Quinta CA 92253.
