Maria Gloria Mejia, fondly known as Gloria, was born on January 13, 1944 in San Benito, Texas, to loving parents Eloisa Garcia and Rodolfo Deleon. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who touched the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Gloria dedicated most of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide. Her selflessness and compassion were evident in her work, she tended to the needs of those under her care with unwavering kindness and empathy.
Those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Gloria would attest to her warm and welcoming nature. She had a penchant for hospitality, always ready to greet visitors with a smile and a hot meal, ensuring that everyone felt at home in her presence. Gloria's friends were regaled with countless stories of her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished and took immense pride in.
A vibrant soul with a no-nonsense attitude, Gloria was the rock of her family. She held her loved ones close, providing unwavering support and strength in times of need. Her work ethic was unmatched, as she toiled tirelessly to provide for her children and instill in them the values of hard work and perseverance.
In her leisure time, Gloria found joy in simple pleasures like sewing blankets sometimes using fabrics passed down from her late mother, cooking for her family, and listening to her favorite Spanish music while singing and dancing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit and her deep love for her family.
On August 1, 2024, Gloria passed away at her home in West Richland, WA, surrounded by her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Gloria's proudest accomplishments included overcoming numerous obstacles in life with grace and forgiveness. She was a beacon of love and compassion, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her unwavering commitment to caring for those around her earned her the admiration and respect of her family and friends, who were fortunate to have her in their lives.
Gloria is survived by her Daughter, Hilda “Lisa” E. Aguilar; Son, Noe(Hayley)Mejia SR. Sister, Olga(Celso)Ramon; Brother, Victor Deleon; Sister, Raquel Deleon; her fifteen Grandchildren and thirteen Great-Grandchildren whom she devoted herself to and loved very dearly.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her Eldest Son Adolfo Mejia JR; Mother, Eloisa Garcia; Father, Rodolfo Deleon; Brother Rey Garcia; and Great-Grandson, Petey Cruz Roman Jr.
In her passing, Gloria leaves behind a profound void but also a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, knowing that she was a true caretaker of all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
