Born iwn Cold Spring, TX to Thomas Walllace Clarke and Mabel Williamson. The family including Her younger brothers, Thomas and David Clarke moved to and Graduated High School In Arkansas Pass, TX in 1937 and she married Herman John Cooper in 1938 which produced two Daughters, Barbara Drucilla and Carolyn Kay. In 1944 she divorced and followed her mother to Palm Springs, CA. Never having worked outside the home she got a job in a restaurant to support her children and eventually married the chef and owner, Sammy Briones. She was divorced again but stayed in that business managing several restaurants and country clubs. Several years later she married Charles De Shazo and moved to Napa, CA where he was employed at the Silverado Country Club until his death in 1975. Shortly before his death They had moved her mother to live with them as she had just been diagnosed with cancer and was alone. At this time she had to return to work and managed the dining room at Silverado until she was injured on the job and eventually had to take a disability retirement with back pain that she suffered with the rest of her life.. She was able to travel a little with friends now and then. In 1994 she had cancer and nearly died from the surgery and therapy but made it through with her positive attitude. She was clear for 13 yrs when another was found but caught in time. Aging and friends dieing or moving to live with their children she took a big step and moved in with her daughter,, Barbara and her husband Robert in Westlake Vlg. CA. In 1999 until her death. She was rarely seen in public without a hat and also belonged to the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed it so much when a gentleman would compliment that she was beautiful in her hat.
She was hospitalized May 28 but on her birthday May 30, part of her family were able to come from San Diego to celebrate her 98th not knowing it would be their last goodbyes. Mother, you are missed so much.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara and husband Robert Fryberg
Carolyn / Richard Carne-deceased, grandsons Richard and Robert/Diane Carne
great grandchildren, Randi and Richard Carne and Sean and Shannon Carne
Great Great grandchildren, Monica, David, Aluara,Alora Carne and Derek , Lucas Carne
Nephews David/Carolyn and Dale/Debbie Clarke
Niece- Eva Clarke and many other and cousins
